Louis Vuitton consistently hosts its Cruise show in notable architectural structures around the world and this season, the Salk Institute in California sets the scene for its 2023 collection. "The Salk Institute has been a place of wonder for me over the years and Louis Kahn's stunning brutalist architecture against this extraordinary setting of the Pacific Ocean and the California sunset provides me with endless inspiration," said Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière. In stark contrast to his recent high-school-inspired PFW AW22 show, the clothes this time are more dramatic with a futuristic, almost dystopian sensibility. Metal fabrics and embellishments that reflect the sun was used, as well as the frequent display of layering and draping, balancing between structure and fluidity.
