Balenciaga Spring 2023—NYC show in pictures

Campiness and sportswear meet in the most unassuming place for the Balenciaga Spring ’23 show—the New York Stock Exchange. Among those in attendance were Anna Wintour, Megan Thee Stallion, Kanye West and Alexa Demie to name a few. Taking over the trading floor, models walked down the runway behind hidden masks and fetish bodysuits, intentionally done to conceal their identities. Atop the leather is the Spring ’23 collection, a collated series of ready-to-wear, eveningwear and the new collaboration between Balenciaga and adidas. In the ready-to-wear line, we see the Garde Robe series, where clothing consisted of wardrobe staples, finished in the signature Balenciaga aesthetic—through elevated cuts, sharp finishings, all constructed with wool, silk, artisanal denim and gabardine. Eveningwear is refreshed through an allure of extra-formal attire, presented through bodycon gowns, reconstructed tuxedos and floor-length silk trenches with trains. Finishing off the collection are the pieces in collaboration with adidas. Here, we see sportswear pieces that have been constructed to sport Balenciaga’s creative language. Pieces are marked with adidas’ trefoil logo over the Balenciaga label, in its usual lowercase typeface. See the entire collection here.
